Reflection of 2nd semester in IKM KUALA LUMPUR

Assalamualaikum, to all my readers out there, please give a big applaus to me and us, in having a great life. 

This month, is the last month for me and other Ikm KL student, before have a long vacation. 

As 2nd semester student, Im having a huge changes, where my confident level getting higher, and I can manage certain things with my self. Else, I manage to get into dean list, where I also dont expect it. Thanks to all my teachers, especially Mrs Ardania bt Ayub, for special attention to all her student including me. His effort and intuition bring me to be more responsive and much more focus. Let memories all together, capture all that, and fowarded it into next term.

If normally we heard about get a job from phone call, or first impression from interview session, now we can introduce ourself or can promoting ourself for extra benefit to get our wish job, by VISUME.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

    1.1 Definition Of Accident

An accident, also known as an unintentional act, is an undesirable, incidental, and an unplanned event that could have been prevented had circumstances leading up to the accident been recognized, and acted upon, prior to its occurrence. Most scientists who study unintentional injury avoid using the term “accident” and focus on factors that increases risk of severe injury and that reduce injury incidence and severity.

1.2 Types Of Accident

Near miss accident is an unplanned event that did not result in injury, illness, or damage but had the potential to do so. Sometimes called a “near hit” or “close call”  signals a system weakness that, if not corrected, could lead to significant consequences in future.

Not wearing a safety boots	The worker might injured his head
Play and joke during work	They definitely will cause an accident
Smoking at workplace	The place will be on fire or blow out/explode
Did not use a safety hones Not wearing personal safety equipment.	Will fall down from high place The accident will occurred and will have major injury.
Not wearing safety helmet	Accident might l happen and their head is not well protected and it will cause a serious injury.
3.0 Conclusion

As a conclusion, we need to pay attention to our working environment and take any safety precautions in order to make us safe. It is very important to wearing or using any Personal Protective equipment. Make sure we follow the SOP and any written safety signage.

4.0 Recommendation

    4.1 The Importance of PPE

- PPE is equipment that will protect workers against health or safety risks on the job. The purpose is to reduce employee exposure to hazards when engineering and administrative controls are not feasible or effective to reduce these risks to acceptable levels. These hazard risks can be anything from wet floors to falling debris and everything in between. PPE includes items such as protective helmets, eye protection, high-visibility clothing, safety footwear, safety harnesses and, sometimes, respiratory protective equipment. Let’s explore some PPE commonly used on construction sites and their benefits:

1. Head Protection

• They are designed to protect against flying or falling objects that would otherwise impact or penetrate the worker. Some hard hats are equipped with accessories such as face shields and earmuffs. Hard hats should be well-fitted; those that are too large or too small are inappropriate for use.

2. Eye And Face Protection

   

• Eye and face protection are equally as important as head protection. Safety goggles, spectacles and full face shields can give you the protection needed for the eyes and face. Metal work, wood-work, hot-work and air-tool operations all require this type of protection. General laborers can also benefit from safety goggles since there is usually debris on construction sites.

3. Respiratory Protection

• Respiratory protection is vital on sites where toxic substances are present. Sometimes what you can’t see can hurt you. Respiratory protections like respirators are designed to protect you from dust, fumes, paint spray, pesticides and other dangerous substances that could cause permanent impairment. Respiratory protection should be used in environments with air contaminants. In work environments, respirators are relied upon when adequate ventilation is unavailable or other engineering control systems are not feasible or inadequate.

4. Hand And Skin Protection

• Occupational skin diseases such as contact dermatitis, skin cancers, and other skin injuries and infections are the second most common type of occupational disease and can be very costly. Because a lot of work is done with the hands, gloves are an essential item in providing skin protection. Some examples of gloves commonly used as PPE include rubber gloves, cut-resistant gloves, chainsaw gloves and heat-resistant gloves. Using gloves helps to avoid hazards usually involved when working with chemicals, glass, sheet metal, electricity, hot materials or slippery objects.

5. Hearing Protection

• NIOSH recommends that worker exposures to noise be reduced to a level equivalent to 85 dBA for eight hours to reduce occupational noise-induced hearing loss. Earplugs and earmuffs are common hearing protection tools. It is important to note that earmuffs are more effective in reducing high-frequency noise while earplugs are more effective for reducing low-frequency noise.

• Using PPE, and wearing it properly, is vital to avoid unnecessary injury in the workplace. Choosing not to wear PPE can be dangerous especially when it could save your life. Never hesitate to ask temporary staffing agencies if they have the necessary PPE. Safety is important and having an understanding of these various protection devices can help to prevent hazardous injury.

4.2 Safety Signage ( signs, symbols, and colour)

• To prevent injury
• To ensure the workers are well aware of the possible dangers and hazards ahead.

2nd time joined..activity week in IKM KL..as a 2nd semester student

On 11 Mar 2019 until 15 Mar 2019,IKM KL organize an activity for all student that known as "ACTIVITY WEEKS".

For this time,I manage to joined arm wrestling activity and volley ball. It was ny fevourite activity since my little brother,come in to the world.

I'm very excited,I can join many activity and have a  good rapor with teachers and also with new student.

Hye there,something to share, Mrs.Ardania as our English teacher, teaching us and give us time to us our creativity,to get an info regarding safety and awareness.
1st thing first,is regarding our awareness in using PPE tools.

Safety was the most important thing in doing everything that related to job that have a risk. No matter its only a small or big risk,the matter is about awareness.

Shahril:  how about we go to air Cond company then ask them for a job

Mass(me): I already search at Job Street and I manage find a company but only wants to hire 2 person only.

While Paktam's car stopped for the traffic light.

Mirza: did u see the job advertisement there?

Mirza: Hello, is this air cooler company?My name Mirza.

Mass(me): hello Mr Mirza, nice to meet you,yes this is air cooler company.Is there anything that I can help you?

Mirza: I saw job advertisement from your company, which mentioning there is a job vacancy for 4 people, which their education level is Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) level 4 in air Cond

Mass(me): hm I see, yes I want to hired a technician, and sure I want to hired a technician with SKM level 4.

Mirza:Thanks God,me and 3 of my friends are equivalent to education level as per your advertistment.Can we come for interview session?

Mass(me): Sure,please come,maybe I can hired 4 of you, please come and bring all resume.

Mirza: Absolutely, sir. Thank you and see u tomorrow

 Shahril: guys, what we want to bring for the interview tomorrow?

Paktam: of course we need to bring a resume, and the entire certificate that we have.

Mirza: do we need to do a cover letter?

Paktam: No need, because we already called directly and apply to the boss.

Shahril: oh I see, come to my house and we prepared the entire resume and certificated for tomorrow interview.

Before we do that, we need to go to the mall buy a ties such as shirt and black slack pants.

A warm welcome to a little hero to this small family..Mass Khairuddin bin Mass Safiuddin

A very warm welcome to my little hero, Mass Khairuddin bin Mass Safiuddin, been born on 26 of february 2019, at Seberang Jaya Hospital,Penang at 9pm. His weight on deliver is 3.3kg. He so adorable,1st keep him in my arm,when I need to azan him, I cannot take my eyes away from him.Owh,out of there my friends and my near family,asking me,why me and my wife choose naming him Mass Khairuddin (a little bit retro),actually this name been choose by my late grandmother (Hajah Habsah binti Hj Osman @ Umi Khalsom), his intention for this name were from 1st my wife pregnancy,unfortunately,my wife was carrying a girl,not a boy. By the way,Allah is a Greater, He gives a chance to my wife to carrying a boy in his womb,for the third time of pregnancy, and name of Mass Khairuddin already been choose. Alhamdullillah,baby and my wife in a healthy, which now already one month plus. Here, I want to share a few of baby photo and my 2 princess that previously cannot wait to bring their brothers homes.Now, Im having 2 additional babysitter to take care of Mass Khairuddin.
